Publications

Since 2021, Dr Bowers has published extensively on Applied Theatre, Creative Ageing, and ageism, with articles in Research in Drama Education, Performance Research, and Theatre Topics. Her research explores COVID-19’s impact on care-homes and it's relationship with theatre, Anti-Ageism Praxis, wellness and community in later life, and LGBTQ+ inclusive housing/care, with contributions to the British Society of Gerontology, the Baring Foundation, and the International Longevity Centre UK. Combining rigorous scholarship with practical insight, Bowers advances social justice for older adults through theatre, research, and public engagement.
